合约交易中国香港：“预测市场”体育项目下注属非法赌博，应停止推展新赌博项目
ChainCatcher 消息，据香港电台报道，香港政府决定停止推进篮球赌博项目。民政及青年事务局局长麦美娟接受本台访问表示，因当局搜集所得的资料显示，"预测市场"近年发展急速，每月交易量由前年的少于 1 亿美元，增至去年每月超过 130 亿美元，当中近 4 成交易与体育运动相关，当局担心如果在这时候再推展新赌博项目，将令市民更关心，甚至参与"预测市场"的非法赌博，因此认为应先作研究，再决定下一步工作，目前应停止推展新赌博项目。
麦美娟表示，现行已规范化的赌博项目，因已建立一个较成熟的监察和管理系统，认为可以管控风险。但对于"预测市场"的不确定性，作为负责任的政府，有需要先作出研究，了解"预测市场"的影响和在香港的猖獗程度。她又说，政府与香港赛马会一直有紧密联系，因马会有严谨监察系统，监察非法赌博情况，亦有一些专门针对打击非法赌博行为的专家，政府会与马会合作，由他们提供专业意见，让当局能够推出专门针对非法赌博的措施。
麦美娟又重申，政府一贯政策是不鼓励赌博，而参与"预测市场"的体育项目下注，属于非法赌博，当局会加强宣传教育，令市民明白赌博的祸害，不要参与非法赌博。
