Wolfe Research Warning: Investors May Be Overestimating AI Investment Growth Outlook
BlockBeats News, February 25th, Wolfe Research warned that investors may have overestimated the AI investment growth prospects despite the market still being in flux. Recent trading has shown that merely based on news headlines, the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, and Russell 2000 indices could drop by around 1%–1.6%.
Wolfe Research analyst Chris Senyek pointed out that although hyperscale cloud vendors' capital expenditures in 2025 exceeded expectations, there is still uncertainty about whether this pace can be maintained in 2026. Bottlenecks such as power, raw materials, and regulation may slow down the construction of large-scale AI infrastructure in the second half of 2026.
If the expenditure growth rate slows down, it may benefit industries previously under pressure due to AI concerns but will have a significant impact on stocks highly reliant on AI investment (such as the semiconductor and industrial sectors).
