U.S. Law Enforcement Seizes Over $10 Million in Cryptocurrency from Sinaloa Drug Trafficking Organization
BlockBeats News, July 16th, in a joint operation in Miami, Florida, the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) seized over $10 million worth of cryptocurrency related to the Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel. This seizure is part of a nationwide effort in the United States to combat drug trafficking activities.
DEA Acting Administrator Robert Murphy stated that they are progressively dismantling these criminal networks. The Sinaloa drug cartel is one of six Mexican "terrorist" drug trafficking organizations as designated by the U.S. government, primarily involved in the distribution of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and other drugs.
