Milan Says He Is Willing to Continue as Fed Chair, Powell Becomes "Thorn in the Side"
BlockBeats News, February 12: Federal Reserve Board Governor Waller said on Wednesday that he would be "very happy" to continue serving on the Fed for the long term if asked, but the decision is not up to him. Waller's term in the position has expired, making it the only seat that President Trump can nominate before nominating former Fed Chair Powell to the position. This is unless Fed Chair Powell resigns from the Fed board when his term as chair ends in mid-May. Powell has not indicated his intention to stay or leave.
Waller said in an interview, "The follow-up development this year depends on multiple factors: whether there is a vacant seat, the U.S. President's choice, and the Senate's confirmation decision." (FXStreet)
