Beatriz Padin Leaves Zara After 40 Years

Beatriz Padin, a top executive at Inditex, has left the company after more than 40 years of service, during which she spent about 25 years overseeing women's clothing for the Zara brand. Padin has been a member of Inditex's management committee since 2021. She will be succeeded by Alfredo Ferro, director of Zara Basic. Padin began her career at Inditex in the mid-1980s and became a trusted confidante of the company's founder, Amancio Ortega. She also mentored Ortega's daughter, Marta Ortega, prior to her appointment as chairwoman in 2021. The appointments of Marta Ortega and Oscar García Maceiras as CEO are part of a generational shift within the company. Inditex has started to develop more expensive clothing lines and collaborations with designers. Although Zara remains Inditex's key brand, its growth rate has slowed, and the segment including Zara Home and Lefties accounts for nearly 72% of the group's sales, growing only 1% in 2025.
